Project “Eco-Building International Club for advanced European sustainable energy technology dissemination in Europe and China ”

is funded by the EC DG TREN within ENERGIE Programme

About the project

The Project is funded by the European Commission DG TREN under the specific programme "Integrating and strengthening the European Research Area (ERA)" within the 6th Framework Programme. As one of Specific Support Actions addressed to "Thematic Promotion and Dissemination”, Project ‘Eco-Building Club' covers the three sub-areas: Eco-buildings, Renewable heating and cooling technologies and Poly-generation.

Thirteen organisations, from research institutes and sector associations located in five European countries and China , takes part, as project partners, in this Specific Support Action project.
The project aims at:

•  promoting and widespread disseminating European innovative Research and Technology Development and Demonstration results (RTD&D), as well as eco-sustainability criteria in building sector;
•  involving market operators directly in RTD&D results promoting and transferring actions through the creation of a virtual Eco-Building Club and by implementing pre-feasibility studies on real cases based on innovative European RTD&D results.

An innovative RTD&D results' promotion approach:

Different from common market promotion approach, where market operators are only simple message receivers, the project proposes an innovative approach: the ECO-BUILDING CLUB. Around this virtual round table, technology developers, providers and professional sector experts, like building designers-constructors and estate managers, will be main actors for market penetration of innovative European RTD&D results. The implementation of pre-feasibility studies on real cases, based on the best research and demonstration results, will be the main contribution of market operators.

As public acknowledgement, the pre-feasibility studies will be further awarded; and the highlight international visibility will give to both the most effective technologies and dynamic sector operators.

Moreover, the market promotion of innovative European RTD&D results and the dissemination of success studies will be carried out not only in Europe but also beyond. With the efforts of Chinese Project partners, an energy research institute and a national building sector association, the specific promotion activities will be addressed to Chinese building sector.

The Project was started on 24 September 2007 and has a duration of 24 months.
